DAILY REMINDERS:
- HOMEWORK: If your first grader does not know how to tie their shoes, please spend a few minutes each night practicing this important skill with them. I have several students who do know how to tie shoes, but there are not enough of us to adequately help our friends whose shoes become untied throughout the day. THANK YOU!! (:
- All grade level curriculum books can be found online at the Lindbergh website. Click on SCHOOLS, CRESTWOOD, PARENTS, then PARENT GUIDES. Finally, click on FIRST GRADE 12-13 pdf. There is a wealth of information contained in this document. This guide outlines the first grade curriculum in detail and provides ideas for activities parents can do at home to support their child's learning.
- Crestwood PTO meeting is tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m.
- We read the story One Red Rooster again and highlighted the number words.
- We had a counseling lesson with our counselor intern. We learned about rules at school.
- For our word work lesson, we practiced spelling our Week 3 words using a flipchart called "Alphabet Flipchart". The flipchart is a program on the computer where the students drag letters onto the white board to spell our spelling words. This is a Daily 5 Activity they will be doing during their Word Work time.
- Since today was Early Dismissal, we had Show and Tell. I was VERY pleased with how prepared our first graders were for their Show and Tell presentations. Thank you for helping them get ready for today! Tomorrow they will be writing about their favorite Show and Tell item (not their own) and tell why they liked that item the most.
