Happy Monday!
DAILY REMINDERS:

• Spelling Homework tonight.
• Picture Day this Wednesday, September 26.
• Bring a red, yellow, or green apple on Wednesday to celebrate Johnny Appleseed's birthday.

We had a busy and productive day:

• We learned a new greeting at our morning meeting called the Formal Greeting.  When we greet a friend, we say "Good morning, Mr. or Miss..." and their last name. 
• For shared reading we read Pete the Cat Rocking in His School Shoes.  We highlighted all the words that have the ending -ing added to them.
• We learned our new Week 5 spelling words (red, big, me, three, where).  Our spelling test will be on Thursday, September 27, since we do not have school on Friday.
• We practiced our Daily 5 Center rotations.
• We took 2 tests today--a math pretest and a Weather test. 
• For science I modeled how to make clouds with cotton balls so we can finish our Cloud Project tomorrow.

So far, I have 3 donations of apple juice, apple cider, and caramel for our apple activities on Wednesday.  If you are interested in donating an apple food, please email me with the item you will be sending in.  Any type of apple food donations are welcome.  Thank you!
